What are special needs, differences between special needs and learning disabilities?
According to my research with Google, there is and is not a difference between learning disability and special needs. The word disability is the legal term for whether people are facing physical or mental impairment. Special needs are the general term, meaning the support they need for their needs, which may be from other people, services, or support aids, which may vary according to the difficulties they face.
This does not mean people with special needs are certain of attention, they do not consider themselves to be treated any specially to other people only in what they need support for.
However, when it comes down to what people face, there is no difference between disability and special needs meaning the type of disabilities and the type of special needs, for example, Dyspraxia, which I will cover later in this book.
Special needs may vary according to their learning difficulties such as emotional behavior, learning disability or impairment.
This could affect everyday lives such as health care, careers, getting home, coping in their home, social lives, bathing, washing, showering, dressing, feeding themselves, coping with money, and more.
