How to support Mental health

As a whole, we starting to if we don't already that Mental illness is not a lie, it is serious and it is real but despite of that, people who have Mental illnesses are not negative people but we face negative in our lives as much as anyone to make us feel as we do. I don't know everything no one does, but what I do know is as a person who faces Mental illness myself and an ex Advocacy worker where I tried to help people similar to myself, it was my job to empower those who face disabilities, Mental illness, etc, meaning suggesting things and they decide, not make them do what I suggest.

On the whole, you will find those you come across will need your support, empowerment, and treatment your service offers, etc and these people are truly facing Mental illness. It would be right to judge one way or the other. The chances that someone is faking the system etc are likely to be very rare and very slim, in which case if you have any concerns in any shape and form it is or should your rights to raise them to your manager etc. https://www.rethink.org/advice-and-information/living-with-mental-illness/treatment-and-support/talking-therapies/

Types of Anxiety and Depression other mental illnesses

 Clinical depression.

Like other problems etc, just a reminder a person doesn't need to face all these signs to face clinical depression, even some of these signs doesn't rule out what they may be facing and or feeling.

Feeling low and unhappy a lot, feeling hopeless and helpless, low -self - esteem,  tearful, feeling guilty even when there's no need to, feeling down, taking things out on others, lack of motivation and interest in things, lack of concentration whether there's something normal in the person's interest or not,  find it hard to decide things, make choices, etc, finding hard to enjoy life, feeling stressed and anxious, worried, etc, sudiual thoughts, self-harm, etc. https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/clinical-depression/symptoms/

The causes of clinical depression are very often emotional situations, relationships, marriage break ups,  career loss changes, job, business loss, deaths of who people know,  maybe very rarely someone may even be affected by for example  failed course, etc, not being successful in something they may have really wanted to achieve, death of someone they know, etc.https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/clinical-depression/causes/ https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/clinical-depression/

Bipolar can be very serious where someone can feel very depressed and low in themselves to feeling high mania over action. This could mean facing mood swings, which may last up to a fair few weeks or more.

They may face Clinical Depression and more https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/bipolar-disorder/overview/

https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/bipolar-disorder/

Season Affective  disorder ( SAD)

They ( SAD) is known as winter depression but this is not completely certain but most people may face this at any time.

Feeling very low in mood,  lack of interest in things, feeling guilty and worthless even if no need to, lack of engry and sleep, struggling to wake up in the morning, gaining weight.  https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/seasonal-affective-disorder-sad/overview/

https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/seasonal-affective-disorder-sad/

Borderline personally can get people misunderstood by others because it is a mood disorder affecting how the person feels and thinks, which could be emotional.  https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/borderline-personality-disorder/overview/

Eating disorders can be very serious but I am putting the website on because are so many. https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/feelings-symptoms-behaviours/behaviours/eating-disorders/overview/

General Anxiety

we can all feel anxious, worried, fearful, stressed nervous, etc one time or another, which is natural. It may be over example driving lesson, test, job interview, etc. However, if it gets to stage you feel this way in most things you face in life where you struggle to think, worry, etc less you may be facing Anxiety. No one can force anyone to do what they feel they want or and cannot. However' the help is out there, not try and receiving it could increase your stress levels, etc.

 https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/nhs-voluntary-charity-services/charity-and-voluntary-services/get-help-from-mental-health-helplines/

In Anxiety, it is common to face panic disorder, phobia, claustrophobia,  post-traumatic stress disorder,  Social Anxiety, and Phobia.  https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/generalised-anxiety-disorder/

Post-traumatic stress disorder knows as ( PTSD) is a form of anxiety where a person can struggle to not think about negative events that have happened in their lives such as abuse, bullying, etc, that they may be struggling to think about less or stop years later. However' those events don't go away forever but even if over the years start to think about them less doesn't mean they have gone out their head completely. The mind cannot stop thinking when it comes to important matters that need sorting such as things to do with benefits, money problems, owing money, things to be done for a certain time, date, etc, mainly they need support to sort whatever and finding support, etc can make them worry till they help and the issues are sorted, etc, which disbert their sleep, etc before the issues sorted.

This could be caused by serious road accidents, car crashes, getting run over, etc.

In such crimes the person may have a face like assault, abuse, being mugged, robbed, etc.

Anyone who has faced a brain injury whether it's during birth or after.

Serious health problems

Childbirth experiences. https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/post-traumatic-stress-disorder-ptsd/overview/

Schizophrenia is a long-term mental health condition where people can hear or and see things the great of us cannot see or and hear. https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/psychosis/

Lack of interest in things.

Personal hygiene issues.

Avoid people, friends, etc.

https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/schizophrenia/overview/

Schizoaffective is a mood disorder a bit like well similar I guess Bipolar and Schiopheria where the person could be negative one minute positive the next, which be confusing for those who don't understand.

They may struggle to look after themselves at times, which I guess would be hard to support as it is such a hidden condition. The only giveaway can be the behavior but most people won't know and understand that without being said but even then maybe not even fully understand even most people not even by the person's family etc. https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/schizoaffective-disorder/about-schizoaffective-disorder/

What is Anxiety and Depression?

What is Depression?

First of all, like many things, just someone may not face all signs of something does and doesn't mean they are facing whatever, same with Anxiety and Depression.

Depression isn't just feeling low, sad, not having good days, etc, it can be a lot worse than that, where it can be a long length of time, on and off, etc.

Like most Mental illnesses you are either doing too much of something or not enough, it can affect motivation, where you have no get up and go, things are never the right amount something or very rarely. For eg; the amount of sleep you may get. Eating too much, not eating enough, etc.

From not having the motivation to do anything to doing too much whatever that may be or it could swap around from one to the other, which is different in different people.

Not wanting to do or and feeling like doing things, lack of concentration, lack of interest in things, etc.

Struggling to see a way forward to live in positive ways.

Feeling ashamed, guilty, worthless, etc.

Feeling suicidal, hurting yourself, self-harm, etc.

The cause is unknown, for eg; common causes could be emotional situations such as relationships, marriage break-up, divorce, deaths of people we know, even no reason at all. https://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health/depression-and-anxiety

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety as I have already said in think maybe my last post or last post but etc, Anxiety is really none stop worry, panic, stress, and fear more so than those who don't worry and fear so much, etc, which depend on the person and even the situation they face. Similar to Depression, in most ways, it's too easy to have too much of something or nothing at all or both in the case may be but more in sense of worry and fear, mainly when some needs to be done, sorted, etc in a certain length of time for eg; a benefit form to be filled in and put in the post. If you need support that may take time to find and the time you are given may not necessarily be enough, which is no fault of services etc because are under time limits and they have to hurry you. https://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health/depression-and-anxiety

This may sound crazy to those who don't know about Anxiety or even another Mental illness. Don't get me wrong when I say this like other Mental illnesses, it's very likely not every person who helps isn't facing things very seriously but it can be serious. As much as someone facing Depression alone to a point of suicidal risk, again don't be wrong when I say this because it is not the same in everyone who faces Anxiety like not everyone faces Depression is likely to take their own life. However' in Anxiety in some if not most cases if a person worries, fears, panics, stresses enough, etc there could be risks of health attacks, suicide even death if they worrying things, etc long enough.

For most people if not all if something or certain things are on the mind, they may struggle to clear the mind, mainly if it's something important like worrying about affording to pay off debts for example.

Even though this section is about Anxiety I am trying to research, the difference, the same, what is similar, and the relationship between Anxiety and Depression. As I have already said Anxiety is a sense of worry, fear, panic, feeling anxious, and stress whereas Depression is sadness and unhappiness. Another emotion that can get confused is with Anxiety is anger because they are so similar in meaning but then seem the same where the person may face a situation the may fear, become anxious, or even angerly, which is a reaction to the situation. This is where their behavior and reaction can be misunderstood for the person behaving anxious, which may seem like anger to others, which may well worry, fear, etc mainly if something is out the blue or and excepted, also if they haven't been informed about something beforehand.

Like I said I guess a few posts away Mental illness in so many words can make us into people we are not or and don't want to intend to be. I don't believe in Sigma, discrimination, etc. However'  the world is a big place, people go through negative things whether it's themselves, their families, friends, etc, which no one deservices. Mental illness is a hard subject and a very important awareness. People have feelings etc and lives matter but mainly when people face crimes etc, but it can be hard to know what is purpose behaviors or what is due to Mental illness, which is where treatment and support are important but not that Mental illness isn't an excuse for everything like disability, etc isn't. Mental illness can be unawareness of your own actions, not everyone is faced by that, which could depend on the Mental illness we face, whether it's major or minor. This can be one of the reasons why it can understand that most people may fear trying to get help in case of sigma, discrimination, etc. The difficulty is concerned if your Mental illness increases you can never be sure how it will affect you and others even.

I will admit when I had my mental breakdown 24 yrs ago, I was worried about trusting myself and how I would behave towards others as well as myself because Anxiety and Depression levels were very high oddly I didn't realize at the time why, where I was in fear I have being a danger to others and myself. https://www.ageuk.org.uk/information-advice/health-wellbeing/conditions-illnesses/depression-anxiety/

Trying to learn how understand Mental illness part 1

Trying to understand Mental illness is trying to understand all types of Mental illnesses but there is more to it than that as in learning about people who face them.

Why do they feel as they feel?

Why do they think as they do?

What do they behave, react and interact as they do?

When facing illness people are mostly facing the negative where we need to work to empower the positive.

Remember it is about the person not about us so they have rights to their choices.

At the same time we can come out with suggestions but we have no rights to force on them what we suggest, it is down to them to try whatever themselves or not, even though they don't know unless they do try.

The way they feel could be they are feeling sad or angerly etc a lot and we need to explore why and how we can support or and treat them.

As counselors, therapists, emotional supporters, Mental health nurses, etc, you need to explore what they are feeling, why, how can you support and treat or and how someone, somewhere can who, what you may suggest or and referral the person to, empower them to try what does and doesn't work for them.

In most cases, you may not be able to make them feel 100 percent with your session, but maybe better than they were. Remember your only trained, qualified, etc in so much and your workplace is only likely to allow so much. You need to help the person understand you only do what you can but you won't leave them without further support.  This depends on what your workplace allows where say if they have been on a six months program they may allow them to resign up again or and they have to receive support else were or and they may or may be able to come back, which may depend on funding etc.

(CBT) Which is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, which treats or and supports such Mental illnesses as  Anxiety and Depression. Where you try to empower them to think from negative to positive. Depending on the esteem of their Mental health how unhappy, angerly, etc they are, what situation they are facing or no situation at all meaning it can happen where they are feeling negative for no reason even. It doesn't mean the support and treatment are all in your hands but for them depending on the problem etc and how sensitive they are etc, it could take a long or short time till they feel themselves again.

You may ask how can we help people who feel negative a lot without a reason? Fair enough question. When that happens, there's no situation, no thoughts but there are emotions, when they could feeling, sad, unhappy low a lot, this could be even they may spend time on their own, which is not a necessary fault, mainly at the moment even lockdown has eased a bit but a lot of people still have not got their old lives back again for example or and they may feel anxious, angry, etc, which could be.

Anxiety is when someone worries or and fears a lot over the same or and different things where they can overthink, overreact without meaning to. This is because we suggest gaging what is a small or big problem for eg; and how important something is to sort as soon as possible.  What probley seems very tiny to you, seems huge to us. Never say you're making a mountain out of a molehill for eg; as many of us feel as if others think we are doing it on purpose, which is not true as I said important things we tend to want to sort right away as we are concerned been too late etc.

Example; This could be over money worries, benefits, housing problems, relationships, marriages, divorces, deaths of people we know, funeral costs, etc.
Anger is pretty much like sadness, a reaction to the situation but then the person could also feel anxious and or fear of something within the situation, which may well could them to overthink, even overact to a point they even struggle to sleep.

To how to support or and treat anxiety and anger, even unhappiness too, you need to learn how to try to understand it. Let's start off with Anxiety which is https://passageswomen.com/counseling-for-anxiety/

Trying to understand mental illness

Mental health is no different from physical health in many ways, yes we need to look after it but when facing mental illness it is not easy but it's not impossible either. Those in good health can think, behave, act, interact, see and hear to ready what is around them in the best way they can, etc. For those who face mental illness, it is not that easy but I am not saying it is easy for those with healthy minds either.

Compared to physical health, mental health, and mental illness there is a difference in control, meaning how we look after ourselves, etc. Mental illnesses do not make people negative as people but what they experience in their lives can be, the way they feel, etc. Going by own childhood, which I won't talk about and I wasn't alone, there are more situations you can face that can be your mind for years or even forever. I understand most people chose not to for whatever reason, which some people could be telling people do know, don't know or both, fear of others would tell other people, etc. All the same, if the voice is not said and heard there are risks of the problem increasing when coping alone but we can only advise someone to speak not force them to.

Research from my internet says mental health affects one in four people but I guess within the last 18 months to two years it would be twice the size due to the Covid 19 lockdown but just high before then. I admit as far as numbers are concerned the UK and worldwide I wouldn't like to guess as I must be more wrong than I expect it to be. Either way, I would guess the cost is huge due to the support people need who face mental illness. However' the help is needed but the concern is that so could well be coping alone either or and not being aware of the help, most could be afraid or and many other reasons.

The most common mental illnesses people face and professionals support, treat, etc are  https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/depression/

Feelings

In this handout, I am going to look at feelings, I am trying to help you understand the difference between anger and anxiety, which despite I face Anxiety myself I am trying to research to understand as much as possible.

Mental ill-health isn't only about how we think, feel, behave, react and even interact with life, which is the same as Mental health too even but about how see and to hear things too, which may be in some if not most cases not what others think, feel, behave, react, interact, see or and hear. Awareness is important because we can be so misunderstood for something or and someone we are not. Whether something is really happening not it doesn't make us, crazy, mad, etc, even as well others may see, hear the opposite to what you may. Never judge someone for facing anything different to you either try to help them or find help for them because Mental ill-health isn't always serious but it can be.  It is very important they get the right etc so never try to do what you cannot do yourself, help them find someone or somewhere who or that can, etc. https://www.mind.org.uk/  https://www.samaritans.org/

The main sign of anxiety is worry and fear whether someone has something to fear and or worry about not. We can all worry, stress panic, and fear, etc things at times but how often? Some who face Anxiety who is likely to fear and worry about the mild, minor, and major things in life, which seem all major to those who face Aniexty but hard to understand for those who don't, where the mind is active until the problems or and whatever is bothering us is sorted. In many ways without understanding, depending on the situation, etc, we may well, which I have done many times overreacted without meaning to. Even positive things to try and take my off won't help until either whatever it is, is sorted or and passed.https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/anxiety-and-panic-attacks/about-anxiety/

Anger like sadness, happiness, etc is a reaction to a situation. All these feelings can happen in different exscreams, even mental health itself can.

At one time most people used to think people who face mental-ill-health was dangerous, etc, meaning unsafe to themselves and others. I hope we have learned it is not the case or not always the case where there are different exscearms, minor, major, etc and in many cases, if people get the right support treatment, it can try to help prevent us being a danger to others and or ourselves. https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/anger/about-anger/  https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/

Unanswered questions about being human

Each and every one of us know that we have become aware a while now Mental health is a huge part of how think, feel, behave, react and even interact with life. Even would admit those who face disabilities, mental-ill-health, etc, which is not uncommon I am not alone. No matter what we do and do not face in life not one of us is perfect.  Despite mental health, disabilities, etc being hugely aware than what they used to be but we all have a long way to go. Regardless of what I am going to say now, let's not rule out what  I have said already.

Don't get me wrong agree being non - judgemental, no stigma, etc I do agree with. All the same, we should be aware at least to start we don't know everything about one another. There are things we most likely don't understand don't know about. For example, unless the person says or someone who knows them says, most disabilities and mental health sure is hidden and even being of most things take very clear proof for us to really be aware of what that person is facing and how we need to accept them, know them and understand them.

My point is, it is very hard to understand why people behave as they do. I said the same years ago and I still say it now in fact. I don't think even the psychologist or any human understands why we and I are speaking for those with mental health, disabilities, etc, and without.

Facing disabilities but most so mental health etc has a huge effect on us. However' not necessary all behaviors are caused having mental - ill-health, disabilities, other problems, etc. Although in most people, situations, etc it is the case but it should be aware of but not used as an excuse, which in many of us is hard to tell either way. Bearing in mind there could be other causes that we don't know or and even don't understand but it may not be the case in everyone, which hard to know how to react because everyone naturally different people and behaves, etc.

This could be from feeling low, down, sad, moody, angerly, etc, which can happen to so many different exscreams with different people, how they may behave towards others and why? This even is a disagreement, debate, rows, bullying, hate crime, which could be physically, mentally, or even both.

Even with many answers we have been told, it can be unknown, not that anyone is lying to us but uncertain whether or not they have been told correctly either.  Where most people may behave badly, oddly, etc towards other cause they have had others who have behaved towards them the same.  Some may be facing problems of their own either fearing to get help or not really knowing there is help etc, for all sorts of reasons, they can take out on others, which is very hard to know why.  It would be too easy to say no excuse either which it's naturally true etc for us to say excuse when it comes to harm to others. Don't be wrong people face crime, bully, etc stuffer families, etc, don't be wrong I have been there myself but hard to understand why and the fact on the whole thing is a hard subject because it's a sensitive subject and the unknown.

Mental health, mental health, etc is a hard subject because we are mostly in the unknown. Don't get me wrong this is not the case in everything and everybody.
