Dulcuet et Decorrum EST.

INTRODUCTION The first world war was 1914 - 1918, the great war, it was a fit for heroes war. A war poet Wilfred Owen was a soldier in that war. In this poem, he wrote about the experience he and his friend had. This is Wilfred had to say.

Men found money and food hard to get. They walked with sacks on their backs, want help. Sometimes they managed. They were so tried, they were near enough sleep walking. They sank in the mud, as they lost their boots.

WOUNDS The bombs explosions, dirt, dust, smoke, bullets and poisonous mustard caused deafness, blindness breathing problems, coughing, choking, smoking through stress and injuries to the bodies. Either they died or were disabled for life. They were if they came home fit and well.

Conclusion We have no idea what it was like to be in their shoe or should I say boots? Wilfred wrote the poem Dulcet et Decorum EST to make people understand these men suffered. I think he had the right idea to warn us. We'll if only we knew if it happened to us. Wilfred hoped it won't.
