The Valentine romance

Sunday 14th February 1993, Debra Evans woke up with a hang over after a heavy night out with her brother John and his friends. Debra's head was spinning round and round like a top. Debra had a glass of water by her bedside as she heard her Mother Jean shout. Debra took a spit of her water.

" Debra Sunday dinner is ready, it's 12.00p!"
" Don't shout Mother." Debra morned as she was half asleep.
" Why do you have to shout Mother, my heard is hurting."
" Don't be silly, it's dinner time, missed breakfast hours ago."

Debra looked at the clock, as Jean walked into the bedroom, she gave Debra a card that someone put through the door. Debra opened the card.

" It's valentine card with a pink teddy bear on, I wonder who that's off."
" I don't normally get Valentine cards, I have never had a boyfriend."

Jean never said a word as Debra got out of bed.

Debra passed John by the stairs as she walked down to go for her Sunday dinner.

" Morning John, do you know anything about this card."

John laughed.

" Morning Debra, not a clue. "

" Apart from anyone of your mates John, I don't know who could be."

" Who knows Debra?"

Jean brought Debra's Sunday dinner over with a cup of coffee, she sat at the table by John.

" Don't look so confused Debra, it could be anyone."
" Would you look confused if you did not know who the card was off."
" The whole idea is to be surprised Debra."
"That's true."

Suddenly the door knocked, there was a lady delivering a Milk Tray and a brunch of red rose. Debra answered the door. Debra's Father Tim answered the door.

" Miss Debra Evans, that's my daughter."
Tim brought the dozen red roses and Milk tray to the table and two pink teddy bears with red love hearts onto the tablet with a big smile on her face but still very surprised and puzzled who it could have been from.

" Let's look at the writing Debra!" said John

Debra gave John the Valentine's card and the card to the flowers.

" Well there's no post on Sunday so someone has just put through our letter box." said Mum
" Does the writing ring any bells to you John?"
" No Mum."
" How strange." said Debra
" Well it is your lucky day Debra." said Mum with a big smile."

" This person may have seen me before Mum but also knows where I live."

" He may be walking down our road right now Debra." said Mum

" It could be someone who may have seen you walk into this house many times.

All day long Debra had been trying to work out who it could be. John who guessed who the person who it could have been in his mind, he knew the writing but he did not tell anyone.

It was 7.00pm, there was a knock on the door. Debra's Father Tim answered the door again. There was a young man in Nary uniform standing outside the door, he had jet black hair and dark brown eyes.

" Is a Blondie and blue eyed lady there?
" Of cause she is, you must be the mystery man." said Tim
" Oh yes I am, my name is Mark."
" Debra. " called Tim

Debra walked up to the door as they both smiled into one anther's' eyes, the rest is a mystery.
