Introduction to Stress other problems Awareness.


My name is Sara Jane Gorman, Visiting Lecturer I’m a Learning Awareness Trainer. I teach student Learning Disability nurses, social workers and paramedics and people who work in the learning disability field, around learning disability and mental awareness at the University of Wolverhampton.

We are what we are and who we are, we are human beings. Some of us are more sensitive to stress than others. When facing disabilities and other problems like Mental health, for example, we tend to find it harder to deal with than those without, why is that?  No one is made of brick, wood or stone.
We mustn’t judge those who cope with stress in a different way to others because this could happen to anyone, please learn to put yourself into someone else’s shoes! Think about what can cause stress, for example, work, education, health, family, relationships, deaths, bills, social lives etc, which happens to everyone one time or another, but we all deal with it in different ways.
Stress isn’t just caused but negative things in life but can be by positive too, for example, exams because we want to pass, and we work hard to do so. Some of us give up and others don’t. Some of us take a long time to get there, others don’t. There are other positive things in life we may have to work hard to get can you name them. 
Mental, Physical and emotional stress can lead to losing interest to everyday life such as work, hobbies, interests etc but for people having work, hobbies, interests etc they may find they need to do something all the while where they don’t feel sable not doing anything. For some people feeling the need to do things and not feeling the need to do things can change one stage to another. Overall there are no set times, could be dairy, weakly, monthly or on and off through the day for example.
 It can also be where we go in our own bubble to a point, we find it hard to talk and get on with people like we used to, if things increase to Mental health etc.
