It is shocking sad but not surprising to know there are only 4 in 10 people with learning disabilities in the UK according to Mencap see their 65th birthday. They say men die 20 years younger than women and women die 23 years younger than they should, very few with a disability are lucky enough to live the same ages as those without disabilities and other problems.
The poor health care people with disabilities and mental health get in the UK.
I do not enjoy writing negatively, but I would be lying if I said I was not concerned about
the health care not only for people with a learning disability and mental health problems in the Uk.
I am not saying the Uk is the country that has poor health.
This also makes me concerned for everyone lives their well
everyone who was born and bred there without being racist and I was born there myself.
The UK government needs to wake up and spend money on what is important, which is health care.
Just because people with learning disability and mental problems need support with their lives,
that does not mean the government should their live do not mean anything,
it has always been the same from my experience and it seems to get worse every day.
A young person’s life with disability and mental health problems are as important and
matter as much as people without disabilities and mental health problems.
They have rights to live their lives with the right
support as much as those without disabilities and mental health.
Health care has always been poor in the Uk, and it needs to change for the better.
According to Mencap, there are 1 -4 health professionals not trained in
learning disability and probably not trained in mental health either.
The government needs to pay people to learn about disability and mental health
to train health professionals in learning disability and mental health. Please read this website to see why this is so important, thank you. https://www.mencap.org.uk/sites/default/files/2018-07/2017.005.01%20Campaign%20report%20digital.pdf
