Stress awareness

Everyone knows that stress can be caused by a load of thoughts and anyone would think by knowing that we would all find it easy to do something about it when things all too much in cases it's not that easy. This can depend on who we are, what we are facing, and could be many other reasons. A lot of these issues I have written about already this blog but a lot of them link together.

This may be not the way everyone thinks but in my mind they are mindful of negative feelings sadness, anger, worry, panic, fear, pain, and many more. I am no professional, no except, etc but how do we make these negative feelings into possible feelings.

The way I answer that rather than saying the easy and the hard way I say the promising way and t sorry to say but just being honest there is no promising way that you can wave a magic wand and it all goes aware.

It doesn't mean you have to do but it's ideas to bear in mind, it may not take it away but it could ease it. What also to bear in mind is what works for one person doesn't work for another.

Here some examples that could help hobbies, interests, careers, exercise, etc. https://www.supportline.org.uk/problems/stress/

Anxiety and Depression awareness

It's more than easy to think of mental health in a negative way when you think about mental health awareness, the way I am saying this admit is not easy to understand but there is no easy way of explaining it. I think what I am trying to say is people who face mental health don't need to be misunderstood as negative people. I guess it's neither about being positive or negative but no one is a professional, expert, etc. Meaning no one knows how we are feeling really other than ourselves. Therefore what may help one person doesn't help the other. The purpose of writing this is ideas of how one could cope with mental health not how they don't they have to cope with it. No one has to do anything they don't want.

Mental health awareness has increased in the last 20 odd years or so anyway but even more so in near enough getting to be in the past 12 months since the Covanvirus lockdown where we have had to isolate ourselves from our lives outside such as work, study etc, which hasn't gone completely because it's online but for most people, it's gone cause not everyone has online access and no one has all IT skills etc.

Depression and Anxiety is a feeling of sadness and anger whether there's a reason or not but it can be different for people. We can all feel sad and or angry from time to time but if it's something we are feeling a lot of course it doesn't mean we are not going mad, round the bend, or out of our minds. There should be no, shame and no guilt however we may feel and no one should make us feel that way. No one is saying that all behaviors or and all extremes of behavior are down to mental health but the main cause of mental health in most cases not in everything is how we feel and not always we can answer why we feel as we do.

Now I don't want to bore everyone with talking about the same things and I don't want to force everyone to talk either but not that I am saying everyone is struggling with mental health and we can also not force people not to talk either but we have never before known how important everyone and mental health matters. In paragraph after the next, I will say, which know you know but we are aware we want to try our hardest to move things forward and try to improve things.

I guess back in history it took us many years to be aware of understanding mental health like many other things too. It's for us to think about others before we must have been going through without any help, support, etc, and yet the way things are today never seem to be enough.

Going back to the second paragraph where I say about you can feel how you feel with or without a reason. Why no one can answer but you, however' there are certain things and times one cannot answer why they feel how they feel but that doesn't necessarily happen to everyone. Like I have said no one can force someone to talk and not to and many can have their own reasons either way. Like for example not wanting others to know our business, not know whether to trust others or etc, which is very understandable but all the same, if things build up inside our mind not saying it will but might put us at risk of stress, worry anxiety, panic, heart attack, feeling sudisideall, etc. Whether or not you have a reason to feel as you do whether it's sadness, angriness, stress, worry, panic whatever it may be there are different things you could try not promise to take it aware but at least ease whatever that negative feeling may be, which could be one thing, things or lots of things. You may even need some things to ease it, one some, or all things. Answers are unknown unless you try some whether it's counselling, emotional support, hobbies, interests, careers, arts, crafts, etc one of these things, some all or even things I haven't written on this blog etc.   https://www.supportline.org.uk/problems/depression/

Mental health Suicide awareness.

First of all, there is no easy way of writing about this subject but I feel it is a huge concern and everyone's life matters. I want to write about I am writing Suicide awareness, which is not to make everyone sad but make everyone aware that it is serious, it has always happened and still is that doesn't mean there is not help out there out there and no one is forcing anyone to talk either. Since the Coranvirus lockdown started in March 2020 concerns of mental health and suicide have grown even more so.

I am no professional,  I don't see myself as an expert but I have lived and dealt with my Anxiety and Depression in my own way, and everyone who faces it has their own way of dealing with it.

Each and every one of us is different of course and it would be boring would if we were all the same.

It's possible to feel, sad, angry, or both whether there's a reason or not, if whatever negative feeling builds up into a certain about of time it may get concerning or in some cases a danger to the person them, or and maybe someone else in some cases. No one is focusing on anyone to talk but we need to offer people we a voice and our listening ear to those who may be suffering and struggling one way or another whether we are a friend, family, professional whoever. Also, respect the person's privacy and choice. Never tell others what they have or if they have told you unless they have given you permission to do so. However' if their life, your life, or and someone else's life is at risk, you must make that person aware that you have no choice but to report the situation to which may be a professional, health professional, police, etc depending on what the situation may be.

We mustn't make a person who feels suicidal feel guilty or shameful how they feel. Negative feelings and stress can build on top of a person, which doesn't always necessarily mean suicide will happen but the risk may be there. The person doesn't want to end their life they want to end their pain.

Never judge, discriminate, or cause the sigma to the person who facing whatever they may be facing.

If a person talks about they feel and they say they feel they cannot carry on living and that they feel as if they are going to end their life. Never say they are or not. If you have concerns someone may end their own life call for help, it's never known whether they will not, in some cases some people don't know their own strengths or weaknesses.

You can offer support services, counseling, emotional support, etc but it is down to the person's choice. Some people don't accept help right away but otherwise, it is the case of letting the person you hear to talk but again it's down to their choice. You can only do your best. https://youngminds.org.uk/find-help/feelings-and-symptoms/suicidal-feelings/  https://www.supportline.org.uk/problems/suicide/

Plans and interduction to blog 2021

With having faced the Covonvirus crisis last year and we still are this year so far. We know things won't be back where they were in a lot of areas of life but hopefully, we won't be staying where we are now. However' let's not let this crisis let's not put life to a full stop as we are all struggling in all different ways of life! Whether it's health, education, work, how we are coping at home, and some other things or and many more. This is not good for anyone but even more so if you have disabilities, mental health, or and other problems.

I have been writing this blog since 2007, which is fourteen years this August and in the same year I started working for Mencap which lasted till 2011, then One Voice private Advocacy service then the University Of Wolverhampton rasicing awareness of disability and mental health. Disabilities and mental health aren't there out of choice and with it, you face the other areas of life you probley would face without them such as cancer, abuse, and many more which is awareness as well.

There are so many ways of raising awareness whether it's writing, power points, acting, some of these, all of these, and more.

For the past ten months due to the Covanvirus lockdown, Most of us have been doing most things online, there is very little face to face contact, support, etc if any. Therefore in this blog, I hope to write about and raise awareness in this blog about things I face and those who face similar if not the same please feel free to share and raise awareness with me if you wish, which was always the case before the Coranvirus but even with more so with and hopefully in the future whatever that may bring.

Cancer storyline.

When I was a small child from when I was about five to seven years of age back in the 1970s, my Mother felt a very small lump in my throat, which was a size of a pea. My Mum very concerned but I wasn't because it wasn't bothering me in any way at the time.

My mother took me to the doctors, they said at the time was best left because they didn't know what it was and they were concerned that it may have given problems at the time if they did anything.

Many years later when I was about twenty - three I was on work experience at an elderly people's home. During my lunch hour, I was eating strew in the staff room and struggled to swallow the meat which was when I started to get concerned.

At the time I was sharing a flat with two young women with learning disabilities similar to myself so I told my support worker at the time and I told my Mother. The support worker came with me to the doctor checked me to find a lump there and they said they would write to the hospital and I should hear soon. Within a few weeks, months, etc I cannot remember, it was back in the early 90s I got a letter to tell me when I can come into hospital. I came in as if nothing was wrong with me. I had my operation the next day, I was in the hospital for a week and out for Xmas 92.

I had an appointment in the January of 1993  to be told it was cancer, I needed to have some limp glands out, then I was back in the hospital, after another two weeks in the hospital next appointment I was told I had to have fifteen of days Radiophapy. I found the treatment made me feel more unwell than cancer with not sleeping, feeling sick, and a mouthful of month allcels. Lucky for me the type of cancer I had it didn't spread to any other part of my body. Back then to be honest I found it hard to understand because in those days we were only aware of such illnesses as cancer and stroke in the elderly.

Just to say I haven't written my story to be felt sorry for I have raised awareness of my experience to hopefully help others not to cope alone. If you are facing the same or anything similar you know someone who is, please do not suffer alone. Please see a doctor etc. https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/ https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/information-and-support https://www.supportline.org.uk/problems/cancer/

Give us a voice.

 Dear Mind

We should be heard as well as seen, we mustn't feel afraid to say what we need to say however old or young we are.

There are times we struggle to say words to be understood.

Not everything needs to be said but some things get worse if not said.

No one should be forced to say either but no one is alone.

Not sure how I got through school with bullying and abuse.

School felt like a lifetime but I had to go, such a relief when I left for good but it wasn't all completely over so I thought when I walked to the school gates for the last time.

My words couldn't express I thought I was alone but I wasn't, I wasn't understood or believed.

Despite of more awareness, there's still not enough voice, awareness, listening, or understanding to the people today so please give them a voice to talk about what they want to and need.

Mind over matter.

The world is not just black and white.

The world is not just black and white.

No one is out of their minds.

No one is loopy.

No one is crazy.

No one is all happy.

No one is all sad.

No one always cries.

No one always laughs.

We are what we are and who we are.

People need help, empowerment, and support.

People do not need to be misunderstood for what they are not.

People do not need sigma.

People do not want to end their lives; they want to end their pain.

Do not feel ashamed of being not okay, it’s okay to talk to those who wish to.

Never feel ashamed about how you feel and why.

Never feel ashamed of how you think and behave.

Help is here for you, but no one can force it on you.

Only you can talk no one can make you talk.

You are not alone; others are here if you want to talk.

What is Sigma?

Sigma, judgment, and discrimination is always looking at people in a negative way, which we do not want.

If someone is down and upset a lot, someone seems angerly a lot, talking about the same thing a lot, they are not crazy, mad loopy, dangerous, etc, they not feeling themselves, they may be facing mental health.

We need to put ourselves in this person’s shoes and remember that person may struggle to know why they are feeling, thinking, and behaving how they do.

In fact, they may not be aware of how they are.

It is likely they will become very sensitive  and there is no real easy way of making someone aware without fearing you are going to upset them which you do not want to do.

Therefore, this not something you need to make them aware of the possibility randomly but slowly.

We do not want to frightened people.

Even when they are aware of the hardest thing for them is accepting it themselves.

So, think about what you say and how you say it.

It is not easy to know in the most situation if some are aware of their own actions or not.

That person does not want to feel alone but also, they want to things to be done and not done their way.

Do not force anything on them but empower them by suggesting things to them but it’s their choice if it happens or not.

All you can really do is let them know you're there for them if they want or and need you. 2.1.2021

Do not create sigma.

Mental health is a condition and an illness, not someone who is round the bend because no one is round the bend.

Sigma is not when someone is crazy because no is crazy.

Sigma is not when someone is loopy.

 because no one is loopy.

A mental health is a feeling and, in some cases, and unaware of how a person is feeling.

People with Mental health can be more sensitive  to life around them more than other people, they are not out of their minds.

Sigma is when people judge people.

Sigma is when they cannot accept people for who and what they are.

Help, counseling, therapy, treatment, empowerment, encouragement, and support is what people need not judgment, discrimination and sigma.

Sigma is seeing the negative in people all the time. 31.12. 2020 to 1.1. 2021

Mental health is not easy to talk about.

What is not easy to talk about in mental health is behavior because everyone’s life, health, and safety matters.

No one is saying that mental health or any other reason should excuse someone’s behavior, in fact in most people’s situations behaviors etc there is no reason at all.

Many situations could well be down to mental health but that does not mean others or themselves should be at risk because of what they are facing.

Not all mental health situations cause a person to behave to a point where they are a danger to others as well as their selves.

There are different extremes, forms, etc of mental health.

In fact, some situation causes the person to be more so dangerous to themselves than others.

In most cases never force help onto a person and let them decide what they do and do not do.

However,’ if you have concerns, they may be a danger to themselves or others serious or even before then depending on the person and their situation, then those concerns need to be aware to those who work in the mental health field, psychologists or and even the police, etc. 2.1. 2021

Whoops sorry, have I said it already?

No one has lost your mind.

It is fine to say you have said it before, but it is okay they haven’t done anything wrong.

Please be patient.

They are not and non – stop record or tape recorder.

The same thing is on their mind, that is not their fault.

If they have said it already that is fine.

No one puts it on so never say they do.

The mind is either thinking the same thing or and they forget they have said it time and time again, but they are not aware, and it is no fault of theirs.

Things can take a long time to go from someone’s mind, they may always say the same thing, or it may get less in its own time.

This may be caused by a pasted experience that they may struggle to move on from whatever that maybe, which or may not improve.

Everyone understand it’s not an easy situation for anyone to deal with and it is not easy for the people are facing.

It is upsetting for them for them as it is, never makes them feel bad about themselves no matter how hard it is.

There is no easy to explain this, it is as hard for those who are caring for these people as it is for the people themselves.

Remember you aren’t alone either there is help there, please do not cope alone, if you wish. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stress-anxiety-depression/mental-health-helplines/  2. 1. 2021

 Thinking too much.

At times I over think because without meaning to I think and fear the worse.

What seems small to you seems big to me, like the worse in the world for me but mostly it is not.

My mind will not rest until it is sorted.

More times than not when it is sorted, I feel like a foal thinking it is not as bad as I thought. 2.1. 2021
