How can you help a person to learn easy?

These tips are not just there to help people with disabilities and health problems learn easy. Some may now have little support or no support at all now due to the cuts. Many services like the council, the benefit offices send out letters to people with disabilities and health problems. The letter are hard to understand, the print can be very small and a lot of jargon. These letters could be very important like the person may have had their benefits cut or the council may have wrote to tell them they need to start paying council taxi, this may not get found out for a long because the person has no one to ask them to support them to read the letter and they do, they could be owing a very big dept and their money have been cut or stopped.

Why is it important someone with disabilities and health problems to have clear information read and understand?
Also understand that some people can’t read and write either, what kind of problems is that likely to cause and how can you support that situation.

It can work different ways for different people because can have someone who can’t read and write but if something is read out to them some people are likely to understand.

Accessible information (Easy ready).

·       Broken down information meaning only so much information at a time.
·       Subheadings on paragraphs to show the person what each paragraph is about.
·       Instructions and directions 123, abc or bullets to the order the person needs to follow them.
·       People with Dyslexia are likely to need coloured paper and large print.

Making and getting phone calls.
Mainly when making an important call you can always get to speak someone right away. Nine times out of ten you get the answer and the person can talk too fast you. Please leave a message after the tone that is all well and good but not always when something is important, which can depend when that person can reply to your message in the first place. It can work the same with emails and texts. I find they talk too fast when they say press this number for that and that number for this.

Without discriminating not many people with disabilities and health problems can understand foreign languages, mainly those of us who have problems with our speech which can make it hard for us to learn foreign languages. This can be very hard if we have made a call to a service and even harder if we get a call that we don’t except.
