HW’s REPORT ABOUT BULLYING.

I wrote this report on behalf of HW when I was Group support worker for Mencap back in 2010, which seems such a life time away now. All the same it proves that vulnerable people are curtained about each other than themselves and even other people when it comes to bullying and hate crime.

When I was Group Supporter for Our Shout back 22^nd June 2010, I used to be Group supporter for Our Shout Self Advocacy group. I used to support group to chair their own meetings of their own choice of topics.

I asked HW what he wanted to talk about, he choose bullying and hate crime, which can go on anywhere. The only other member of Our Shout was there was SS. The others were busy.

I used to see Huge down Stow Heath Day Centre to plan the meetings round his own choice that I supported him with.

HW was worried about people with disabilities all ages getting bullied.

Huge chose to speak about bullying and hate because he didn't like the thought of people hitting one another and calling one another names. Huge also said with so much IT in today’s world people are getting nasty text messages, nasty, emails and etc.  HW said he would like us to raise awareness to schools. Colleges, work placements, the police and etc.

Both SS and I agreed with HW, we also agreed that bullying and hate crime is dangerous.

Even though it may be possible that Our Shout has finished through cut backs, I only hope we can go along with HW choice to make the world a safer place.
