Learning disabilities

We can never stop disabilities and health problems but there shouldn't be any reason for any Mum to be neglected at the birth mainly this day and age. People with disabilities don't only need support as babies and children but they need support all our lives but not necessary all the time because they are some things we can mange ourselves. Not much different to other people,we all don't have the same weaknesses and strengths.

It can be very stressful for families to have family members with disabilities and health problems but it can be hard for people with disabilities to accept that they have to have more support than other people. Some people with disabilities and health problems have family and friends but others don't. For even for those who are lucky enough to have family and friends people have other life and they may not see them that often. In fact most people with disabilities and health problems feel bad about having to depend on others a lot because we like to be independent. This is something that the government and society has never been able to understand and never will. None of us are completely useless and none of us shouldn't be made to feel that way. People should understand that we don't want chose to be hard work but there are people out there who talk to us as if we do.

There are some things we can do so we are as independent as we can be. Those people who don't have may have friends or many friends  to support them but others do. For some people they feel they need more support but others feel not as they may have to have managed without support for so long.

Very often they are the people who have got the most problems and don't want to put others. I will be honest and admit that I'm one of the lucky ones and with my family I will be honest to say I don't stand a chance to hide things but then it's a tricky one because strangely I understand the ones who aren't so lucky  to not have the support I get just by having disabilities and health problems. No one has to tell me I will be lost without my family support what I am so grateful for because I know just by seeing what's around me such as people who I have gone school with, college ad etc.
          These people think to themselves whatever happens happens  because they get so use to not getting use to not getting the support they should get the rights to get but it shouldn't have to be that way.

 I would have to say which feels as if it puts the likes of myself to guilt and shame that they become a lot stronger and braver people, mainly those who go through having their benefits stopped because that's no easy time at all.

 It's not a nice thing to face but these benefit cuts are like war you either pull through all or you don't so sad really when you have to battle through your life like that.

In the case of people living on very little money or not at all is one big battle for them to get through.

One never knows what's round the condor so make the most of positive what you have got it will be upsetting to lose the independence you have got and always had. If you are a person who has never had to depend on others a lot then suddenly you do, that would be a very big change for you. Let's hope it doesn't happen to you.

What are Learning Disabilities?  Learning disabilities are disorders that slow the brain down. People with Learning disabilities don't only find it hard to learn but they can take longer to learn.

Learning disabilities result from impairments in one or more processes related to perceiving, thinking, remembering or learning. These include, but are not limited to: language processing; phonological processing; visual spatial processing; processing speed; memory and attention; and executive functions (e.g. planning and decision-making).

Learning disabilities range in severity and may interfere with the acquisition and use of one or more of the following:

  • oral language (e.g. listening, speaking, understanding);

    • reading (e.g. decoding, phonetic knowledge, word recognition, comprehension);
    • written language (e.g. spelling and written expression); and
    • mathematics (e.g. computation, problem solving).

    People with disabilities are talented in our own way but we need the right support with English, Spelling, organizing information, maths and etc. Like other people we all have different strengths and weaknesses.
