Learning Disability Hate Crime Awareness for the Student Learning Disability Nurses.

Hate Crime can affect people's’ health emotionally as well as physically.
Communicate can have an effect on vulnerable people explain themselves.
More often than not people who commit crimes commit them where there’s not any people and cameras around, which makes it hard for the victims to be believed by anyone unless the victim has been hurt physically but even then it can be proving who has committed the crime, where and when.

        People with learning disabilities feel like the odd ones out to other people.
        Why don't people with learning disabilities report bullying and hate crime?
        Sad topics are hard for people with learning disabilities to talk about due to a lack of communication and understanding.
        Not all other people understand people with learning disabilities, which people with learning disabilities find it hard to get believed.

Seeing is believing.
        Hard to believe it when you don't see what’s happened but it doesn’t mean anything hasn’t happened!
         People with disabilities don’t always get believed, understood, not believed and misunderstood if they report crime.
        There are not cameras everywhere we go!
         There's a lack of communication and understanding between people with disabilities and other people.
         No one lies about Bullying and Hate Crime!
        Bullies get away with bulling and hate crime when their victims have disabilities.
          Bullies know that people with disabilities are more likely to be misunderstood and disbelieved if they report crime more so than other people.
        After facing bullying and hate crime people with disabilities may feel they need some emotional support to talk to someone in private.
        Some people may have been hurt physically which can also affect them emotionally, which could be where your job could come in as a Learning Disability Nurse.
        People with learning disabilities face bullying and hate crime more so than other people.
        If there crimes go to court people with disabilities will need support in court.

 What is Hate Crime?
Some people cause Hate Crime to people who seem different to them meaning for example they may have disabilities, health problems or even elderly.

Crime can happen anytime, place and anywhere.

  What kind of Crime is there?

·        Some people can be prejudice.
·       Name calling,
·        threading,
·        Abuse,
·        Bullying,
·        Spitting
    Hate Crime is Illegal.
·       Most victims can give up reporting crimes in fear of been misunderstood or and disbelieved.
·       Cameras are not everywhere you go.
·       When crime is not seen it’s not always believed so they aren’t known about.
·       So many crimes are still hidden from when didn’t have cctv cameras.
·       (Visual for Victims) was set up to allow proof.


 When Hate Crime is reported this raises awareness of Learning Disability and Hate Crime.
·       More people with learning disabilities and health problems face Hate Crime more than other people.

·       For non emergency calls please call your local police station.
·       Emergency number 999.
·       If the police find out someone has hurt or harmed you they will be sent to jail.
 This will make the police aware of Learning Disability  and Hate Crime.
·       All calls are private but only shared with police, Agencies.
·       If you report your hate crime to the police
·       They will advise you to our Advocacy and support service, we will only do or say anything by your say so.
