What is a learning disability?

Learning disability is caused by the way the brain develops. Disabilities and health problems can affect the brain, body or and both.
Here are some forms of disabilities.
People with profound learning disabilities need help with everyday lives. They find it hard to communicate.
People with severe disabilities also need help in everyday lives. They may have physical disabilities as well as finding it hard to communicate.
People with Moderate disabilities may need a small amount of help. They may mostly need help with social and emotion support.
People with mild disabilities need little help or no help at all.
Some disabilities are linked to mental health problems.
Many say that not all disabilities and health problems run in families.
A child can be born lack of oxygen during birth or born too early and too quickly.

Getting disabilities For eg; a mild form of Autism Asperger Syndrome can be very much misunderstood because of it mostly being a hidden disability.
Asperger Syndrome can be linked with Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Epilepsy, Anxiety, depression and ADHD.
The causes of disabilities and mental health can happen before, during and after birth.
Things can happen to the Central System.
The brain and spinal cord.
Gene is chemicals in the bodies that contain information about us like we look.
Diagnosed.
Many people with disabilities and health problems haven't been diagnosed mainly if they have lived with it too long.
For eg; if you are over 40, it can be hard to get diagnosed mainly if whatever it is, is from birth.
This is because you wouldn't have diagnosed at the start of life.
They didn't diagnose disabilities and health problems years ago.
The best time to get diagnoses is as a baby or young child depending when someone notice any signs.
It will be best to get diagnosed as soon as possible.
Sooner the child or baby gets diagnosed the sooner the parents will know what needs need to be supported.
How do disabilities affect lives?
People with learning disabilities find it hard to learn everyday skills as quick as other people. For eg; household tasks, socializing, managing money and etc. These difficulties affect the lives of learning disabilities. People with learning disabilities tend to need support if things need to be done quickly.
People with learning disabilities tend to take longer than other people to learn new skills, understand complex information, mix and get along with other people. If people with learning disabilities are rushed with things, this can cause a lack of communication and understanding between people with disabilities and without.
The level of support people needs depends on the disabilities they have. Some People with severe disabilities may need the most help with everyday lives, this may mean full time care and they may also have physical disabilities.
Some people with mild disabilities may only need support with getting a job.
Society often sees people with disabilities and health problems as a health and safety hazard, when they these needs should be supported.
People with certain specific conditions can have learning disabilities too. For eg; Down syndrome and some with Autism have learning disabilities.
Most people don't understand learning disability or mental health.

Meaning of learning disability.
People with disabilities and health problems are good not good at different things just like all of you.
We are mostly seen for the things we can't do rather than what we can do.
Learning disability slows down in the way we do things and the way we think.
We can't work and think as fast as you.
Everyone forgets but it can be how often we forget and what we forget.
The cause of forgetting does mean you have disabilities but disabilities can affect the mind.
There can be a big difference between forgetting information and forgetting and forgetting something important at home.
People with disabilities are intelligent in our own way.
We are not intelligent in the eyes of society because we aren't intelligent in the way they are.
This is why society misunderstands people with disabilities.
A lot of people with disabilities and mental health are talented people.
Often without thinking, we can express ourselves in writing poems, drawing, painting or and doing other things creative.
We may find spelling and math’s hard.
We may find either spelling, maths or both hard.
Like other people some days are good others are bad.
Even though our minds are slow we are always thinking.
What we are thinking isn't always known to you.
Like you we are all different kind of people.
We all have different disabilities.
Don't expect people with the same disabilities to find the same things easy and hard.
Expect anything from anyone.
Britain has very little money to live on through the cuts now.
It's always the ones who need help most have very little or no help.
People with disabilities, health problems, children and the elderly help the most.
