I’m aware there is a lot of confusement what learning disability, difficulty and other problems are. Learning difficulties are such problems as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD and more. Learning disability is how difficulties affect peoples’ lives. Dis is the difficulty, ability is the strength. For eg, most people may struggle with home skills, looking after their health, needing support with their career, struggling socially making friends etc. The abilities could be creative, they may struggle to gain new skills, but it is not impossible with the right support. In my case I struggled in my younger years when I left school with no exams achieved studied and achieved in college for years , I was in and out of places because I was put on the wrong work experiences when I was on such schemes on YTS etc, I didn’t know what I was good and bad at, neither did others around me. It was only when I was in my last thirties, someone suggested Mencap where I spoke up for the rights of disability etc, raised awareness. Even though my work at Mencap folded due to funding I took my skills elsewhere, which made me a lecture and a basic counselor. What is a learning disability? | Mencap
Now we are going to
look at
learning disabilities and conditions, here are some links to disabilities and

What is Autism and Asperger's syndrome?
Once getting Autism it is always there, Autism is a spectrum known as ASD.
Autism itself is not a learning disability but people may face other problems
that are. Autism is a lifelong condition.
Like all
problems it needs to be diagnosed for people who face it to get the right
support but due to funding and many other reasons it is most not possible. How
ADS affects lives is where they struggle to interact with others in social
situations, communication, the way they are with others around them.
What is Asperger's
syndrome? You can feel and see things different to other people. Again, it is a
long-life condition not a learning disability, other conditions but it is
possible to have learning disabilities linked to it, well learning difficulties
such as Dyspraxia, ADHD or and Dyslexia. Mental illness Anxiety and Depression,

Research and statistics on learning disability.
How many of us with a learning disability was born and lives
in the UK? In my research on Microsoft Edge, it come up with only 17 percent of
us with a learning disability were born and live in the Uk, which is 1.5
million people. Maybe a lot of you may
disagree but, in my view, this explains why the support is so little, which is
no different to what it was the start of my life fifty – three years ago. I
guess we know more now than then but not enough, this makes me think we still
have a lot to learn, which is okay but not good enough, you may think different
but that’s my thoughts really. Without the support and independent we should
get, we face a lot of sigma and discrimination. This has improved to what it
used to be but we still have a long way to go. Stigma and discrimination - research and statistics | Mencap Learning Disability Research and Statistics | Mencap
Next we are going to be taking about communication
because communication in learning disability causes us to communicate a
different way than other people communication. Therefore’ this causes other
people to struggle to understand people with a disability. To support that
there are different ways for other people communicate with people with
disabilities. For example; http://www.signalong.org.uk/
http://www.bda.org.uk/ http://www.talkingmats.com/ http://www.widgit.com/ http://www.symbolworld.org/ different ways work for different disabilities. Communicating with people with a learning disability | Mencap
This could also mean trying to make life as easy
as possible for people with disabilities such as easy read information,
accessible information etc. Resources for Healthcare Professionals | Mencap
On the whole, most people with a learning
disability find it hard to make friends socialize, etc. For many of us, with
people all around not just socializing but family, work, education, health,
going into the bank, shops, etc. Not in a way no one likes us or us not liking
them necessary, but we are not very often understood. This is where we can be
lonely but even when we are not, even mainly in very busy places, those who
face Autism. Loneliness is as much a mental health issue as much if not more
than any other, the longer it goes on the more it increases. New research from Mencap reveals widespread loneliness with
almost a third of people with a learning disability struggling with their
mental health and many unable to find support | Mencap
What's the difference between a learning disability and a mental health
problem?
What's the

between a learning disability and a mental health problem?
difference between a learning disability and
a mental health problem? Some people don’t understand the difference between
the two. Although when it comes to us is meaning the difficulties we face in
life, can cause us Anxiety and even Depression such as asking for support
and not asking for support with things we need support with. The difficulties
are how our dis affects our lives, our Anxiety is our fur straightens of having
to ask others for help but also fur straightens if others can’t help for
whatever reason. What's the

It
doesn’t always work or and it doesn’t work for everyone, it may some longer
than others, but whatever the outcome it is something to try and empower people to
bear in mind. CBT Cognitive
behavioral therapy tries to empower the positive from the negative to the
positive. For example, someone
saying I will fail that exam so I will pass that exam. Whether it helps or not
will depend on the person, their situation or mental illness, etc. Learning

Many of us understand there is a cost living
crisis at moment, which doesn’t just affect people in their homes but
businesses, jobs, etc, which makes the important things not necessarily important
but hard. For example, people with disabilities get an Annual
Health Check. What doesn’t seem to be understood not everyone can go, without
support, even the right support, transport, traveling, etc. All most
disabilities etc can cause people not to have any sense of direction etc,
which that the person may miss their appointment because they may have gotten
lost, not able to find the place, etc, not all people with disabilities can
drive, whether they can or someone drives them, the cost of petrol is sky high
now and service, etc cannot affront to support people. Some people may not get
understood while the check-up is going on, which is not easy without someone
who knows them to support them. Why annual health checks are so important for people with
a learning disability | Mencap
