It is not easy being understood when you have a learning disability, or even making yourself heard. I am writing this blog to show how my disability affects my day-to-day life and what help & support I need. This blog is for those who learn and work in disability and mental health.

Mental Health awareness 2016

Just to make you aware that Mental Health was in February but that doesn't mean that Mental Health awareness isn't needed all year round. All people who face Mental health, they face it everything of their lives including myself and life is an effect one way or the other, each and everyone us in different ways. You will be coming across people different ages, back grounds and etc. Each and everyone these people will deal with the world around them in different ways and they will cope with their disabilities and health problems in different ways,

Stress is one of the worst killer of all, which is a risk for everyone. Without being a the center of attention the lives of disabilities, health problems and the elderly are the most vulnerable to stress mainly more to how this government is treating these days. Since 2010 when David Cameron became Prime Mister, at least near enough thousands to millions not much less if I am wrong have took their own lives through the stress of the benefit cuts or fear of having their money stopped or cut. Pensioners have even had their pensions cut and they except work longer now than they ever did before and they have worked just as hard as the last generation did. The elderly have needs and wants not much different to people with disabilities and health problems. This is where your job as a Learning Disability nurse is important whether the country as it is is in crisis or not.

Someone who lives with Depression it's there everyday of their live no matter what their live is like. You could have the best or the worst life in the world, Depression you with Depression when it is going to. Depression is a feeling of sadness whether or not you have a reason to feel that way, which is the same with Anxiety and anger.  Anxiety is a sense of panic and fear, which is classed as Post Traumatic Stress Compulsive Disorder.

Babies, children, teenagers, adults, middle-aged people, and the elderly who have disabilities and other challenges—we all want the same thing: to live our lives for as long as we can, just like everyone else. For most of my adult life, I’ve followed the Mencap website to learn more about the facts surrounding disabilities and other related issues. At one point, it was reported that most people with a learning disability only lived to around 50 years old. I’m proud to say that I’m one of the people who has lived longer—I’m now 55. And I believe I’m not alone; there are likely many others with learning disabilities who are living longer, healthier lives and are even older than me. That’s why it’s so important that people with learning disabilities receive the right support to stay healthy, including access to annual health checkups—no matter where they live in the world. Just like everyone else, we deserve the chance to live full, long, and healthy lives.

Sara Revealed

It is not easy being understood when you have a learning disability, or even making yourself heard. I am writing this blog to show how my disability affects my day-to-day life and what help & support I need. This blog is for those who learn and work in disability and mental health.
