Advice on supporting people with disabilities, mental health and other problems with careers

Firstly remember most people with disabilities etc are on benefits due to their disabilities etc. Therefore there may be limits to what they can do and limits of hours they can do by the rules of the benefit they are on. When trying to find them a job, course, etc. However' many questions have been raised to me in my life and I guess many others similar. Would you consider getting a proper job, earning the same as everyone else, and coming off benefit? If the choice was left to us yes as long it was a job we are successful with the right support and we are good at what we do, at and it's not going to leave us in a situation we cannot pay bills, eat and not have clothes on our back but life doesn't make it that easy for us, etc.

You will mostly find no person who faces disabilities, mental health other problems don't enjoy depending on benefits or other people even but we have no choice in many cases but in others, we are independent in different ways but it's not fair for us to be put into situations we cannot manage without support. Just remember a person doesn't choose to have disabilities, mental health, or other problems and they don't choose to be on benefits either. https://www.caba.org.uk/help-and-guides/information/understanding-benefits-uk-basics-explained  https://www.cashfloat.co.uk/blog/guides/welfare-state/   https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/

What situation are they in?   You may think, every situation is different for different people. Is your answer

You most likely know it's not a case of just supporting them to apply for something that's it, there are so many things to look into. Like for example if the job is looking for someone who can drive, not always the case but that person may not be able to drive, this may or may not be dues to their disabilities, etc. Another thing could be issues around public transport getting them to places on time. This is where society tends to think of people with disabilities, mental health, and other problems as hard work and cost a lot of money but we do have positives in us as well, even we understand yes, it can be a challenge for others to support, etc but well worth it if we have strengths for whatever job, etc it may be even if these people do need some support behind them. There again in some situations, it seems society cannot afford our strengths as well as our weaknesses.

Even those with hidden disabilities etc may struggle with direction, etc, travel training may need to be considered.

I myself have had many situations where I have attempted to go places got lost and by the time I get there I am late or the place is closed by the time I have got there and then the people who have been expecting me to have thought I haven't tried to go there.

With the right support, these barriers shouldn't affect these people's rights to the lives they deserve.
